Another great craigslist pickup!
This 93 Formula is a restored salvage title with 104K miles and a 4L60 transmission. The previous owner had removed the seats, fender, light and some other pieces for use on his Trans Am. I picked this gem up for $1100 and it already have a shift kind and exhaust!.
On the way home the car overheated as a result of incorrectly wired fans, this was easily rectified.
I was then able to find a 93 Trans Am that was not running, on craigslist as well, and picked that up for $700.
I transferred the from bumper, fenders, head light assemblies, rear hatch, and rear bumper over from the Trans Am immediately.
The Trans Am also had a set of Fitipaldi 18" 10 spoke wheels on it that got transferred to the Formula once receiving a new set of rubber.
Next was a brake upgrade in the form of cross drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic brake pads.
A used K&N CAI and a Camaro style shift knob were the next parts to be added.
Next round of spare cash was sent into the stereo system. Panasonic MP3 deck, JL Audio 6 channel Amplifier, Lightning Audio 6 1/2's, Volfenhag 12's, and a custom fit box to cap it all off.
Most recently an MSD coil was added due to a stock part failure.
She is currently running 14.6's at 93 MPH with less than spectacular 60 foot times. |
